October 9th Act 80 Day - no students
Well last week really didn't work out the way I had hoped. 1 full day out and two half days - sure does make it difficult to ensure the students are getting all the plans. So . . .
Monday -
-Subject Predicate practice - subject tells who and what the sentence is about, located close to the beginning of the sentence. Predicate tells what the subject is doing or is. I tell the students to underline the simple subject then go word by word asking if you can do the word. They need to stop at prepositions - to is the most common one they'll see. The students also need to learn linking verbs: (they are most difficult to understand- they are words that aren't action verbs) Students have a paper with song for this to the tune of Jingle Bells. amis arewaswerebebeingbeenhavehashad
